We have some wonderful spaces to enjoy
A total of 15 Nottingham parks have been named in the Green Flag Awards, an international accreditation that recognises and rewards well-maintained parks and green spaces. Victoria Embankment, Woodthorpe Grange Park and Bulwell Bogs are among the sites to have been recognised in the city.
The Arboretum, Forest Recreation Ground, Highfields Park and Wollaton Park have also maintained their Green Heritage Site Accreditation, supported by Historic England, for the management of their historic features. Nottingham City Councillor Corall Jenkins , Portfolio Holder for Energy, Environment, Waste Services and Parks, said: “We are delighted to have yet again been recognised by these Green Flag Awards this year from Keep Britain Tidy.
"This award recognises and highlights the dedication that goes into maintaining our parks and open spaces to such a high standard and the value we put on our parks and green spaces. We know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors - they are such an important part of people’s lives and well-being in Nottingham.
“It’s fantastic that Nottingham City Council’s investment in parks has been recognised with these accolades and we will soon be announcing our Nottingham Green Space Strategy which means we can look forward to an even greener, healthier, happier Nottingham."
