She sailed on her maiden voyage on May 27, 1936 and with the outbreak of WWII, she was converted into a troopship and ferried Allied soldiers during the conflict. Now the ocean liner sits in Long Beach, California, and has been transformed into a historic hotel and top tourist attraction.. The new Cunard White Star liner '534', later the Queen Mary, during its construction at the John Brown & Co shipyard, Clydebank.
