Millions of households across the UK are set to receive the next instalment of the £900 cost of living support, worth £300, this Autumn, with a further £299 due next Spring. Many rumours have been circulating online about when this payment will be made, but no details about a payment window or the qualifying period have been announced yet by the UK Government.
When is the payment due? The only information confirmed by the UK Government is that the payment for £300 will be made in the Autumn. This payment will be tax-free, will not count towards the benefit cap, and will not have any impact on existing benefit awards.Who needs to apply? Nobody needs to apply for any of the cost of living payments, these will be made automatically to eligible claimants in receipt of a qualifying benefit.
