Millions of households across Great Britain are set to receive the next instalment of the £900 cost of living support, worth £300, this Autumn, with a further £299 due next Spring. Many rumours have been circulating online about when this payment will be made, however, no details about a payment window or the qualifying period have been announced by the UK Government.
Another member said: “It’s a nightmare trying to stay up to date on all the scams that are out there at this time. So many people still fall for these scams as they are getting more and more advanced!” As we approach the official start of Autumn, and no indication of a payment date for the £300 cost of living payment yet, it’s important to remain vigilant and not to trust anyone who contacts you out of the blue by phone, email or text message, asking you to click on a link, or provide any personal or financial information.
When is the payment due? The only information confirmed by the UK Government is that the payment for £300 will be made in the Autumn. This payment will be tax-free, will not count towards the benefit cap, and will not have any impact on existing benefit awards.Who needs to apply? Nobody needs to apply for any of the cost of living payments, these will be made automatically to eligible claimants in receipt of a qualifying benefit.
