777 Partners responded to such reports by insisting they have submitted all of the necessary documents in line with the requests of the Financial Conduct Authority

777 Partners insist they have provided all of the "relevant documentation" that is needed for their prospective takeover of Everton to move to the next stage.

The report added: "If the company does not provide the requested financials or an acceptable explanation, its proposed takeover of Everton — a deal involving hundreds of millions of dollars in assumed debt and a coveted place in the world’s richest soccer league — could fall apart." A 777 Partners statement issued to the ECHO read: “We have submitted all relevant documentation to the FCA in line with their requests and indicative timings. The regulatory processes in relation to the proposed acquisition of Everton Football Club need to be allowed the proper time and space to run their course in private."
