I couldn't believe he'd had the nerve to send it.
It was January 2023, and I hadn’t been on a date in a while.
We decided on dinner in Soho, followed by tickets to a comedy club. Initially, the ‘no drinking’ thing was a bit awkward, and we nervously started knocking back fizzy water instead, but it didn’t take long before I felt at ease on our date.Although it seemed to be going well, I couldn’t tell if there was anyor if he fancied me, but he was easy to talk to. We ate good food and ended up getting through three bottles of sparkling water between us in the absence of alcohol.
I was still weighing him up at this point, but was open to getting to know him more. He didn’t seem as funny in real life as he had been on text – but I was up for seeing what might happen.
