Hotspot areas such as the Kimberley Precinct and the Sainsbury’s store, the Newdigate Street area, and Kimberley Recreational Park will be targeted by police
High-visibility police patrols will be carried out in 'hotspot' areas to crack down on antisocial behaviour. Officers aiming to target, disrupt and disperse offenders causing issues, as well as engage with members of the public and local businesses and provide reassurance will be present in the Kimberley area.
It has been launched on Monday, July 3, and will be running until Sunday, July 9. ASB Awareness Week 2023 aims to encourage communities to take a stand against antisocial behaviour, highlight the impact it can have on communities and to encourage reporting of incidents, said Nottinghamshire Police.
“Members of the public just want to be able to go about their shopping peacefully without having to be subjected to this sort of behaviour. They just want these young people to behave themselves. We realise antisocial behaviour and associated criminal activity is having a significant detrimental impact on the local community and I hope this new operation shows just how committed we are to doing all we can to combat it.
