“Sport is going to be a big element of the work that we’re doing over the next few months”
The Minister for Sport was invited to officially open the extensive new £1m investment in Accrington Stanley Community Trust.
An outdoor seating area and a balcony have also been created to provide fantastic elevated views onto the 3G pitch for spectators. This allows Accrington Stanley Community Trust to reach more people in the community with their outstanding work, with more than 100,000 visits per year. Ms Britcliffe was on hand to ask him what he thought of the facilities at both sites. He replied: “When you’ve been talking to me about these facilities, I had a vision in my head, but to come and see them for myself has been amazing.
The Accrington Stanley team also discussed their programme of shirt giveaways, run annually to local Year Three schoolchildren.
