A teacher who abused his position to sexually assault a teenage boy has been jailed for less than a year.
An investigation was launched by Lancashire Constabulary and Hunt, 69, was later charged with offences of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 16 years - which was the relevant offence at the time it happened. He pleaded guilty to three of the four counts on the first day of his trial at Preston Crown Court earlier this year.Hunt, of Fairfield Street, Accrington, was sentenced today to 11 months.
“I would like to praise the victim for his bravery. I hope the result of this case encourages other victims to come forward and all reports will be investigated with sensitivity, regardless of when the offence was committed.”
