Adele's 30 is named global album of the YEAR
Doja Cat - Planet HerHer album reached number one in more than 20 countries, including the UK, where it spent five weeks at the top of the Official Albums Chart.
Following its release, 30 surpassed more than five million physical album equivalent units in less than two months. The IFPI introduced the first Global Vinyl Album Chart for the 2021 awards to reflect the continued resurgence of the format. Adele beat hotly tipped contender Ed Sheeran in the Artist Of The Year category - which now includes all artists regardless of gender - after they both released long-awaited albums around the same time last year.
