G7 leaders 'agreed roadmap for future engagement with the Taliban', says PM

The decision to move the deadline would have formed a key part of the discussions at the virtual G7 summit, but it's a decision that requires the agreement of the Taliban. This is useful short term, allowing for discussion on deadline extensions. And long term it's useful to work out what relationship these two foes can foster.
