Developer Remedy has acknowledged that Alan Wake 2 was doomed to failure in its original release date, so they’ve picked a new one.
They announced the change on Twitter, where they made it clear it was purely to get out of the way of all the other games, and not because Alan Wake 2 isn’t finished.
‘October is an amazing month for game launches and we hope this date shift gives more space for everyone to enjoy their favourite games,’ reads the message.29 September – EA Sports FC 24 13 October – Lords Of The Fallen 25 October – Alone In The Dark 7 December – Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora ‘We can’t wait to show you what everyone’s favourite novelist is up to in the Dark Place next week. Thanks for your patience!’, Alan Wake 2 is billed as a straight survival horror, so releasing it so close to Halloween does make perfect sense.
