Content creator and Sony Santa Monica writer Alanah Pearce found herself on the wrong end of an overenthusiastic DMCA takedown on Twitch today, when her channel was banned after reacting to preview footage from the upcoming Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
, saying “lol my Twitch just got suspended mid-stream because I was reacting to SkillUpYT’s Zelda preview video” – logging her out of her channel and meaning any users and followers who searched for her channel were met with an error message.
The story does have a happy ending though, as Pearce was able to contest the takedown andWhile there’s been no official comment from Nintendo on Pearce’s ban, it’s believed the company is taking an extra hardline stance on Zelda-related content online following. Last week, a bunch of footage was circulating on various social media sites, with Nintendo swiftly contacting the sites to have the offending content removed.
