Aldi shoppers have been left divided over a huge change to its supermarket checkouts
The budget retailer is a favourite with many shoppers, and has gained even more fans in recent months amid the cost of living crisis. A growing number of people are turning to Aldi in a bid to save money on their weekly shops.
The customer said: "I know Aldi have already installed self checkouts in some places but they need to get with the times and install at least a couple in each stores." A second said: "They’re great. Work well if you want to grab a few bits. In and out. If you got trolleys or want to use a till there’s one open", and a third said: "I use them all the time. I haven't got time to wait behind rows of trolleys. I'm in and out so fast its great."
But other shoppers were against the self checkouts. One woman said: "No please do not put these in stores it’s ok for young folk but older people like to go through checkout", while a second said: "No I hate them always something goes wrong! Just need checkouts just for people with baskets instead, people who only have a few items."
