It's British cycling's top road race - and a chance to see world-class athletes

The Grand Depart is in Altrincham, with riders setting off from Market Street at 11.45am. For the first four-and-a-half kilometres, the race is neutralised, with pedalling in anger starting in Wilmslow at 12.15pm.

To facilitate the race, a slew of road closures and parking restrictions have been announced by councils. Below is a list of everything you need to know ahead of the excitement. Full road closures will be in place from 1pm to 3pm at Carr Street, Tanners Street, Rawson’s Rake, The Rake and Chapel Lane. These short-term full closures are to accommodate the King of the Mountain Challenge

Salford The following roads will be closed on a temporary basis for around 15 minutes as the race passes through:All closures are set to operate in a window from 1pm to 4:30pm, and they will reopen ‘at the earliest opportunity’.
