Several big name shops will remain closed on New Year's Day
It's New Year's Day and if you're thinking of spending the first day of 2023 indulging in some retail therapy, remember some stores will be closed today.
Home Bargains Discount store Home Bargains closed all of its branches for three days over the Christmas period - Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day - to allow staff to enjoy the festivities with their loved ones. Iceland Frozen food retailer Iceland remained closed on Boxing Day this year and is set to do the same on New Year's Day. Richard Walker, Iceland's managing director, said on Twitter it was to "give our colleagues a well-earned rest with their friends & families."
