Police were called to the scene in Langshaw Walk, Bolton, at about 2pm. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large emergency service presence near to the alley, off Wigan Road, following the incident.
The extent of the victim's injuries are not yet known. Officers said an investigation has been launched into what happened.In a statement, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Greater Manchester Police were called to Langshaw Walk in Bolton at around 2pm today to reports of an assault. "Enquiries are ongoing at this time to understand the full circumstances with the extent of the injuries suffered unknown.
"Anyone with information that can help officers is asked to call 101 quoting incident 1716 of 04/07/2023."
