Failing to tell the DVLA could mean a £1,000 fine or, in the event of an accident, prosecution.
Most drivers are aware they have to report their medical conditions to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency .
However, some people aren't aware of all the conditions you need to make the DVLA aware of. Some conditions might mean you have to stop driving for a while and you can therefore give up for licence voluntarily for a period of time. If you have a medical condition that affects your driving and do not voluntarily give up your licence, you must inform the DVLA, and they will decide if you can continue to hold your driving licence.
