This year promises to be bigger and better
A Nottinghamshire town will be brightening up the streets with its second annual Light Night. The countdown has begun in Beeston with events and installations from High Road to the Square, and extending to the Rylands.
Last year's successful inaugural event attracted thousands of people. Organisers say this year's event will be bigger and brighter than ever. The town will be illuminated on Saturday November 4 with a torchlight parade, illuminated cubes, UV painting under blacklight, fire performers and a projection on the precinct, from 6pm to 9pm. There will be entertainment from Nottingham Samba Collective, the Seas of Mirth light-up puppets and illuminated circus performers.Local creatives will have stalls in the exhibition marketplace within the former Argos building from 10am and street food will be on sale.
"Last time was such a huge success, bringing thousands of visitors to our town. Attractions like #alightinBeeston and Beeston Street Art have really helped our high street and I’m passionate about building on that. "There’s a bike projector system booked called Urban Projections going around the Rylands this year, the lantern parade starting from the Boat and Horses and the Round Table Sleigh. There are installations from Bartons to Broadgate in the centre. Lots of businesses and residents are getting involved.
