The dancer is battling stage three breast cancer
Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has told her fans that there is one thing that happens every morning that 'breaks her heart' as she continues with her cancer treatment. The professional dancer announced in June that she had undergone a mastectomy after discovering that she had stage three breast cancer.
"Thanks for all the lovely messages," she began. "A little update on cycle 2. Wanted to be open and honest with you all from start."She said she started feeling sick "as soon as second lot of ‘red devil’ was going in" and threw up when she got home, despite taking anti sickness medication. She said she now just gets "waves of nausea" but is still taking anti sickness pills.
However, Amy said it was the hair shredding that she was really struggling to deal with, and admitted she was finding it harder this time around than during her first cycle. Amy has been using a cold cap which is said to prevent around 50 per cent of shedding and can help hair to grow back faster, but she said her "heart breaks" when she sees that she is loosing hair each morning.
She added: "I know this won’t last forever but during this time and knowing normally these few months are my favourite time of the year and I feel myself wishing these months away just hurts so much.
