The Criminal Cases Review Commission says Andrew Malkinson's 17-year prison term was 'plainly wrong' and it has 'long recognised' that a review of the case is 'important'.

Case files obtained by Mr Malkinson and seen by Sky News show that prosecutors

A Crown Prosecution Service caseworker said:"If it is assumed that the saliva came from the offender, then it does not derive from Malkinson. Lord Edward Garnier KC, a former solicitor general, has called for a public inquiry into the handling of the case, saying it needs to report within six months and be led by someone of"considerable stature and independence".
