The 35-year-old plays with a metal hip and had been on a resurgence from injury in the first half of 2022 – reaching two ATP Tour finals in January and June respectively and earning a spot back inside the world top 50.in the second round at this year’s Championships, three-time Grand Slam champion Murray saw his form dip.
‘If my body is in good shape and I’m still able to compete consistently, I’ll keep playing,’ former world No.1 Murray, now ranked world No.49, told‘But I can’t look so far in advance with the age I’m at and with the issues I’ve had. If I was to have a big injury, I probably wouldn’t try to come back from that.’It is not the first time Murray has hinted at retirement this year after he also dropped a big hint in July.
‘You never know how close you are to the end but I’m aware I’m getting towards the end of my career,’ the two-time Wimbledon champion said at the Hall of Fame Open in Rhode Island.
