People could be banned from using several Nottingham alleyways for a further three years

amid fears of a "recurrence" of anti-social behaviour. Access to eleven alleyways has been prohibited for the last three years after an order was made by Nottingham City Council.

All eleven of these orders are due to expire towards the end of this year and the council will now consult on extending them. In council documents, the authority says: "Since the orders were made there has been a significant reduction in the anti-social behaviour reported in the locality of the respective areas.

"However, if the orders are allowed to expire, which would result in the above mentioned barriers being removed, this may result in the recurrence of the identified anti-social behaviour in these locations." The orders made are known as Public Space Protection Orders , a tool available to councils under 2014 legislation.

The areas covered in Nottingham by the current PSPOs, all expiring in either October or November, include parts of St Ann's and Mapperley. The council has now authorised a 28-day consultation to be held on extending the orders, with the new ones coming into effect following the expiry of the current ones if the council decides to go ahead. Below are all the alleyways affected and where access is currently restricted.
