Witnesses are being urged to come forward
Police have issued an appeal after a group 'tried to steal a motorbike' outside a Starbucks in Stockport.
The incident happened outside the coffee shop near the Portwood roundabout at around 3pm yesterday . 'Several unknown persons' made an attempt to steal the bike, police said. Officers investigating the incident are now urging any witnesses to come forward. They particularly want to speak to anyone who has footage or CCTV.A post on the GMP Stockport Facebook page said: "#APPEAL | Stockport’s Neighbourhood Crime Team are appealing for information in relation to an incident which occurred in Stockport Town Centre on Monday 17th July 2023 at around 3pm.
"The incident involved several unknown persons attempting to steal a motorbike outside of Starbucks next to Portwood Roundabout in Stockport Town Centre. Were you in the area at this time? If you have any information, CCTV, mobile footage, dash cam or cycle footage from around the times of this incident, please do get in touch with GMP now.
"Any details can be reported to directly to Stockport’s Neighbourhood Crime Team at [email protected] or anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting 2209 of 17/07/2023."
