Apple is to allow its customers to carry out DIY self-repairs on their phones for the first time
.spare parts and tools to help with the task.
A four-step guide on its website encourages customers to"first read the repair manual", then either rent or buy the"professional-grade tools" required for the job from its"self-service repair store". The scheme, which first launched in the US earlier this year, will offer repair manuals, tools, and replacement parts for the iPhone 12 and 13 range, as well as more recent Mac laptops which contain Apple's own chips.
