Several people gathered for protests outside the Barclay’s branch holding signs that read “stop funding Rosebank” and “this is an intervention”.
They claimed the protest was part of Extinction Rebellion and Money Rebellion’s UK-wide ‘Better without Barclay’s” campaign."They want to extract and burn millions of barrels of oil to get even richer.Alex Cochrane, also from Extinction Rebellion Scotland, added: “Barclays are the biggest funders of fossil fuel in Europe."We all know we need to wean ourselves off fossil fuels.
"We all know the climate crisis is already hitting us yet Barclays still refuses to do the right thing for us.Two arrests have been made after windows were allegedly smashed at Barclays offices at Clyde Place Quay, police confirmed. A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “Around 8.10am on Monday 14 November, 2022 police were made aware of damage to a property in Kingston Street, Glasgow.Barclay’s has been contacted for comment.
