The artwork is inspired by our city's crest and patron saint
A tree made from metal, stone and wood has been 'planted' outside Glasgow's largest office development, 177 Bothwell Street, by one of its occupants HFD property group.
The bird that never flew is a reference to a robin that St Mungo’s master tamed. It is said that the robin was accidentally killed by some of his disciples, who then blamed St Mungo. However, he fell asleep and when woke to find the fire extinguished, he broke off some branches from a tree and prayed over them until they burst into flames, restoring the fire.
The fish that never swam relates to a story involving Hydderch Hael, King of Cadzowm, and his wife Queen Languoreth.
