Thursday’s hot weather, which was particularly sweltering in southern New England, had some utilities in Vermont asking people to make slight adjustments to their power consumption in order to save money for fellow ratepayers on future bills.
Thursday evening: Still hot, moderate humidity. Around 90, heat index 96. Overnight Thursday night: Slight chance of an early storm far north/west, otherwise humid. Lows around 70. Friday: Sweltering humidity, continued hot, scattered PM thunder. Highs in the 90s, heat index around 100°.
“When it’s high demand, costs go up,” Brown pointed out. “So if we can reduce our demand, we can reduce our costs.”
