Joseph Peers was accused of doing a solo 'recce run' on the home of Ashley Dale
A man accused of driving the gunman who killed Ashley Dale was today accused of carrying out a solo "recce run" two hours earlier.
Today Paul Greaney, KC, prosecuting, pressed Peers on where he travelled after he and Witham left the Pilch Lane flat at 10.10pm on August 20. Peers had told the jury that he had been planning to walk to his parents' home on Woodlands Road, Roby, to watch the Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk boxing bout that night, but had been offered a lift by Witham.
When Mr Greaney reminded Peers of Mr Tarpey's evidence, he replied: "That was his opinion weren’t it." Mr Greaney suggested that the lift home from Witham meant a "15 minute walk" had turned into a car journey of over one hour.
