Welcome signs in different languages have been taken down at the children’s asylum centre that also removed a Mickey Mouse mural, theipaper understands 🔴 mollyblackall reports

A source with knowledge of the centre’s operations said that not only were the murals painted over, but “welcome” signs in different languages were also removed.

The Home Office did not address allegations that the welcome signs at Kent Intake Unit had also been removed. Steve Smith, CEO of refugee charity Care4Calais, said: “The children going through this unit have been through unimaginable trauma in their lives, eventually arriving in the UK alone and with nothing other than the clothes on their backs. Removing signs in their native language, which could help them understand where they were, is a despicable move that can only add to the worry they are going through.
