BREAKING: Attempted murder investigation launched as police make arrest
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a 'disturbance' at a house in Stockport. Police were called to the incident at a property on Thornley Lane South, Reddish, shortly after 6.30pm on Friday .
A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken into custody, where he remains this morning . No one is believed to have been seriously injured in the incident, police have said.Witnesses reported seeing a large police presence at the scene throughout the evening. A cordon remained in place the next morning.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Just after 6.30pm last night , officers were called to reports of a disturbance at a property on Thornley Lane South, Reddish. Upon attending the property, a man was arrested on suspicion of attempt murder and taken into custody, where he remains.
"No serious injuries have been reported in connection with the incident. A scene remains in place whilst officers continue to investigate, and there is no threat to the wider community."
