Autumn Budget LIVE updates as Jeremy Hunt set to announce tax hikes and energy bill help amid soaring inflation

He said the measures he will outline in his statement will "get debt falling, deliver stability, and drive down inflation while protecting the most vulnerable".The chancellor's plans are widely expected to raise finances through stealth taxes.
Mr Hunt may also make changes to council tax to allow local authorities to charge higher rates, which could raise funds for social care. Announcements are also expected on how much benefits, pensions and the minimum wage will rise next year and what support will be available for people struggling with energy bills once the Energy Price Guarantee comes to an end in March.
Tough spending cuts are likely to be outlined too, with Mr Hunt reportedly eyeing up plans to cut funding for the government’s homes for Ukrainian refugees scheme.
