'After nursery costs, I take home £200 a month which barely seems worth it'
This content contains affiliate links, which means we may earn a small amount of money if a reader clicks through and makes a purchase. You have to weigh it all up and do whatever will work best for yourself and your family. If your gut is saying to stay home and you can afford to, do that or perhaps see if you can find a part time or job share accountancy position.
But, you want to keep your foot in the door because there will be a time where kiddo won't need us that much anymore 😪 and you might want to work to keep yourself busy and bring a bit more money to the family. Plus, I find, LO develops so much at her childminder compared to when she was at home with me. I know its hard to leave them at daycare but it's so much better for their development and mine loves going to her childminder. Nevermind, I can be NOT mummy for a few hours which helps my mental health too.
If your current employer can't offer you a part time role, apply for a new job that suits you and fits in with your childcare arrangements. If you want to work in future, I really dont think quitting is an option and as they say: every little helps 😉
