Bacup was packed out on Easter Saturday for the Bacup Now Easter Festival. Easter Saturday is traditionally a day dedicated to the Britannia Coconut Dancers Annual Boundary Dance, and in association with the Britannia Coconut Dancers, the Bacup Now Community Group have enhanced this tradition into a full day of entertainment, activities, attractions, dance and music to inject vibrancy and energy into the town centre.
Bacup Pride prepared the town centre on Good Friday to an immaculate standard in readiness for the festival. The day started with the opening of the traditional Easter Market run by Ste Thornton and music from Pete Sweetmore who entertained visitors to the market throughout the day. Music and festival information was provided by Tony Nixon and his team from Rossendale Radio and music from the Rossendale Ukulele Band and the ever popular Punch and Judy. Irwell Terrace Carpark was host to Skylight Circus Arts who provided opportunities for both young and old to learn circus skills.
