Football can sometimes throw up crazy transfer stories and this January window has certainly been no different
Britt Assombalonga next? Barcelona are two-thirds of the way to assembling Middlesbrough’s 2017/18 attack once they complete Adama Traore transfer from Wolves., Christian Eriksen is on his way back to the Premier League and Philippe Coutinho has, incredibly, reunited with his old pal Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa.Traore spent two years at Middlesbrough from 2016-2018of the lot, though, is the emergence of a bizarre link between the Middlesbrough and Barcelona.
And now they are close to wrapping up a deal for Traore in a move which has thrown just about everybody off guard. But their move for the Wolves man is more amusing as it means Barcelona, somewhat remarkably, boast two of Middlesbrough’s attackers in the 2017/18 Premier League season. Barcelona’s business has been so strange in recent times you wouldn’t back against them now making a move for Assombalonga, who currently plies his trade with Turkish outift Adana Demirspor.No-one could have predicted that the Teesiders, who were relegated at the end of that season, would have two forwards playing for the Catalans five years later.
