Tony Blackburn has opened up about his health battle earlier this year.
Tony Blackburn has been speaking about his dramatic health battle after he was hospitalised with a life-threatening condition earlier this year.
The star, who was forced to pull out of his popular radio show and his Sound of the 60s Tour, has now opened up about the ordeal and revealed he also suffered blood poisoning on top of everything else.He said: “I was doing three a week at one time forgetting that I'm now a little bit older, so I ended up in hospital for two months with sepsis and pneumonia and blood poisoning.”
The 80-year-old was discharged in May after three weeks but has only recently recovered. He said: “A couple of weeks ago I went to see my specialist and he said 'you are cured', so that was a nice thing to hear." Tony has also returned to his BBC Radio 2 show after Johnnie Walker was a stand-in host while he was off.
