The Dragons’ Den presenter’s family urged him to continue with the ceremony, where the newlywed couple raised a toast to his late father
Davis said that he did not know if his father intended for his death to coincide with the wedding but wouldn’t have wanted to disturb the day.
The presenter’s brother, Roland Davis, told Times Radio: “He had told us since we children that he believed in controlling his entire life, and that he would manage his own death, so I’ve known it for many years. He reminded us for several times over the course of his life and more frequently towards the end.
“I wonder if he’s forgotten [the wedding], my father knew about it and we don’t know whether he had forgotten the date.”
