With subtitles no longer regarded as being a barrier to UK audiences, the BBC is hoping to get a slice of the Latin action after acquiring,The Spanish-language series is set in the outwardly glamorous yet dark and dangerous world of the country’s 80s beauty pageants.
The eight-part series is set to air on BBC Four in autumn ahead of a glut of Latin American series being produced by streaming platforms., produced by the Mexican arm of Dynamo, a Colombian company that made its name working with Netflix on Narcos. The BBC is scouring the globe for dramas that can both entertain audiences and help fill schedules as budget cuts bite.are pouring huge amounts of money into international productions.
