Werner Neubauer, an engineer for Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative, had to cut the power off so the animal would not get electrocuted. He then went up in a cherry-picker and used an 8ft fiberglass stick to try to nudge the bear and force it down."I think I told him I was gonna help him get down the pole," Mr Neubauer said.After grabbing and biting the stick a few times, the bear eventually climbed down and ran off into the desert.
