Paul Heaton has put money behind the bar at five pubs in the city so revellers can have a drink on him
The former frontman of the Beautiful South has put money behind the bar in five Glasgow pubs so revellers can have a drink on him, prior to his appearance at TRNSMT on Friday.
The 61-year-old joins Pulp, The View and George Ezra as one of the big-name acts appearing at Glasgow Green for the festival's first day. "The pubs involved will be 226 Gallowgate , The Old Burnt Barns, Lynch's Bar , The Braemar Bar , The Tollbooth Bar and Whistler on the Green ." Ground Control Recordings said: "A class act Sir! Can’t wait to finally see you play live tomorrow. Carry On Up The Charts was the first CD my Dad bought for his new hifi and probably my first memory of music."Heaton rose to fame in the early 1980s with the Housemartins, whose line-up included Dave Hemingway. The pair went on to form the Beautiful South together. Norman Cook, who found worldwide fame as the DJ and producer Fatboy Slim, was the band's bass player.
