'You have to take it out of the player's hands'
Jan Bednarek was left furious with a member of Southampton’s medical team after they refused to let him play on with a head injury.
While the challenge was not overly reckless, it did see Bednarek fall from quite a height and land awkwardly, leading to a lengthy spell of treatment at the Emirates Stadium. Clearly determined to get back onto the pitch, he gestured and argued with the Southampton physio who was clearly following concussion protocol and taking a decision in the best interest of the player’s health.
