Behind the scenes of Prince Harry’s book which was ‘almost pulled after UK visit’
Prince Harry nearly pulled the publication of his memoir Spare following a trip to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, it has been reported.
A boss at Penguin Random House reportedly walked in to tell the team working on the book: "He’s pulled it. He doesn’t want to do it," – which left everyone "devastated" after putting in hours to get it out.It's also been claimed that Harry's manuscript, which was ghostwritten by JR Moehringer, had to be translated from American English as he reportedly used phrases like "awesome" throughout the copy.
However, according to the publication, during on Zoom call a senior publishing executive's young children walked past his computer screen, which left Harry furious. They added that while there was much speculation that Harry made significant changes to his book following the death of his grandmother, he didn't.It comes after several segments of his book have been leaked online following the accidental release of the memoir in Spain this week.
