Make-up brushes are a tricky purchase. Faced with the shiny glory of a fancy lipstick, this season’s must-have eyeshadow palette or the “it” new foundation, it can be difficult to spend your hard-earned ducats on something as pedestrian as new applicator tools.

They really do make blending a breeze. Each of the brushes has tens of thousands of synthetic bristles which are bound to make them drop resistant.

If you’ve never tried applying a vampy red lip with a brush instead of straight from the bullet, do.
