The Big 12 and NFL are partnering to host the first-ever conference-wide pro day in 2024, the leagues announced Wednesday.
pro days are must-attend events for NFL on their own. You also need the draftable players to want to show up and give it legitimacy.coach Sonny Dykes, so it appears the Big 12 schools are bought in. This would be a smart move for the Pac-12 and Group of 5 conferences to consider at the very least.
“With the creation of a Big 12 Pro Day, our conference and Commissioner Yormark continue to prioritize the enhancement of the student-athlete experience,” Dykes said. “The Big 12’s partnership with the NFL, its programming through NFL Network and its powerful social media presence will provide an unbelievable amount of exposure for all the participants from each member institution and the conference as a whole. … It is a powerful statement on how the Big 12 is at the forefront of innovation.
