Rossendale Big Help Out needs volunteers to lend a hand for King Charles' Coronation
Civic Pride Rossendale and Incredible Edibles Rossendale are encouraging people to take part in the ‘Big Help Out’. A statement on royal.uk reads: “In tribute to His Majesty The King`s public service, The Big Help Out will encourage people to try volunteering for themselves and join the work being undertaken to support their local areas.
People wishing to join should meet the group at the front of Whitaker Park on Haslingden Road in Rawtenstall on Monday, May 8 from 10am till 2pm. The Mayor of Rossendale, Councillor Anne Cheetham, will be planting an oak tree at 11am donated by Marl Pits Garden Centre as part of the weekend celebrations.
On the day people will be able to learn about herbs and their health benefits, dig, feed the birds, weed the soil in readiness for planting. People of all ages and abilities are invited to join our existing volunteers to be part of this historic event. Rossendale Rotary is also participating in the Big Help Out Day on Monday, May 8 10am-12 and 12pm-2pm.
