Time to say goodbye to a little piece of history
One of Blackpool’s historic trams has left the resort for its new home at the National Tramway Museum in Crich.
A spokesperson for Tramtown said: “It is always a shame to lose any of our trams, but the reality is that for the future there has to be a balance of keeping a representative of various types for display as well as those which are popular for use on the heritage tram tours along the Promenade.”Tram 645 entered service in 1987 as part of a small fleet called Centenary trams, eventually totalling just eight providing a one-man operated service.
