Football Insider has been told by sources that former Blackpool captain Chris Maxwell is set to join Huddersfield Town on a free transfer.

Former Blackpool goalkeeper Chris Maxwell is undergoing a medical at Huddersfield Town on Thursday after agreeing a deal,Maxwell is set to join Huddersfield on a free transfer after the completion of his medical tests. The 32-year-old is currently a free agent following the expiration of his Blackpool contract earlier this month after the club opted against exercising the 12-month option in his deal.
The Welshman spent much of his early career at Wrexham but was deployed on various loan spells for the majority of his time there.made 28 appearances for the Bloomfield Road club last season and is closing in on 500 outings throughout his career.
