Furious Blackpool woman ordered to trim her bush or face £100 fine

A woman from Blackpool has vented her frustration after receiving a letter ordering her to trim her bush - or face a £100 fine.

"I would be grateful if you could arrange the removal of the offending foliage overhanging the public highway from your property and ensure that all resulting cuttings are also removed from the public highway. If you fail to remove the overhanging vegetation within two weeks of the date pf this letter, a notice will be issued under The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

"With the weather being the way it was, it has got away from me a bit - whereas I would normally cut it back before now. I had just let it go a little bit, but I didn't think it was overly obstructive. I've seen an awful lot worse." She continued: "It is frustrating because, I know everybody does it these days, but people park on the pavement and there is more cars parked on the street that cause problems for people getting past than there are problems with bushes. When somebody parks and they have seen the bush there, but they're parking halfway across the pavement, then I can appreciate that it does cause a big problem, but nobody seems to be chasing anybody up about that.
