The family of Kirk Hutcheson have been made aware.
Police have confirmed that they found the body of a man in the Galloway Forest earlier this evening.Officers say there are no apparent suspicious circumstances around the man's death and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
The 53-year-old vanished from the Castlehill area of Ayr on Monday morning, with a desperate appeal for his whereabouts launched earlier today. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.50pm on Wednesday, 1 November, the body of a man was found in the Galloway Forest. "Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of Kirk Hutcheson, reported missing from Ayr, have been informed.Read next:
