Some Boeing planes GROUNDED over safety fears after Ethiopian Airlines crash killed 157
CHINA has ordered its airlines to temporarily ground their Boeing 737 Max 8 planes over safety fears after the Ethiopian Airlines crash killed 157.
Eight Chinese nationals were among the 157 people who died when the plane crashed six minutes after take-off. Tui was the first UK-registered airline to receive one of the new Boeing aircraft and plans to roll out its orders over the next five years. UN animal campaigner Joanna Toole, 36, from Devon, and dad Joseph Waithaka, 55, from Hull, are among the 157 victims who were killed when the plane crashed.The pilot of the plane reported difficulties and asked to turn back, according to the airline’s CEO Tewolde GebreMariam.A chilling radar map shows the flight not far from Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, before the tracking suddenly stops.
"I quickly put two and two together as I knew there were not many flights between Ethiopia and Kenya on a Sunday. He really helped people realised their potential."The flight came down - just after departing Addis Ababa - carrying 149 passengers from 35 countries and eight crew members.
